LCC Radotín Arena will host the 26th Aleše Hřebeský Memorial from Wednesday April 24th to Saturday April 27th. On Tuesday March 26th we will learn what teams will match in round-robin groups. The tournament draw will start at 6 p.m. CET and you can watch it live at LCC Radotín YouTube channel.
Last year's playing system with 24 teams proved to be attractive and it will be used again this year. The first twelve teams, according to last year's final standings, will match in the upper Gold A–D round-robin groups. The remaining teams, as well as newcomers, will start in the lower Silver A–D groups. The Play-in games between round-robin play and the play-offs allow teams from lower groups to reach the very top, and compete for the championship trophy.
Teams were divided into six pools for the draw. Last year's final ranking was the only criteria for Gold 1–3 pools, while the tournament board's estimation of any newcomers' level was taken into consideration for the Silver 1–3 pools groupings. You can see the teams and pools here.
A rule that Czech teams can not meet in the same round-robin group will be applied, however there will not be a similar limitation on foreign teams from the same nation playing in the same group, unlike in past years.
Tel Aviv Lacrosse is the defending Champion, and they have many Israel national team players on the roster, and a strong North American background. Canadian clubs, Nova Scotia Privateers and Alberta Warriors, will be back this year. The Ladner Pioneers from British Columbia, 2015 champions, are returning after last year's break, and they are replacing Green Gaels. Hong Kong team is new and an exotic addition to the team list. The quality of the team is kind of a mystery for us, but as far as we know, Hong Kong field-lacrosse teams are very good, so a solid game level can be expected. GSI Grizzlies from Norway are another newcomer, and Moon Bears, with players both from overseas and Europe are the last addition to this year's field. On top of that, almost all of the traditional participants from the USA, Ireland, Scotland, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Switzerland and Turkey will be back. Homeside LC Custodes will certainly aim to win the trophy after their bronze medal finish from last year. Also the Radotín young guns, LCC Wolves, will play their best to improve upon their 18th place finish in 2019. Czech teams TJ Malešice and SK Lacrosse Jižní Město will be playing again as well.
The tournament starts on Wednesday morning and runs through Saturday evening. There will be time for our popular children's clinic as well as exciting exhibition games. Like last year, several games will be played at a secondary location, Černošice Arena, on Friday. The Semi-finals will be the highlight of Friday evening and the Final game starts on Saturday at 8 p.m. with traditional fireworks crowning the evening and the event.
New AHM Main Partner
The tournament organisation would not be possible without generous support of our partners and we are happy to introduce our new main partner – TRI³ HARDGEAR.
We are happy for support of our traditional main partners – the City of Prague, the Municipality of Prague 16, K4H and Sped-it.
And of course big thanks to all our supporters, who will be introduced here soon.
Easter EBox – Lacrosse Europe Is Coming to Radotín
Again this year the European Box-lacrosse Invotational (EBox) will be held in Radotín before the AHM. European national teams test their skills in a unique ocasssion to play full games against their rival. This year the interest is even higher because of upcoming FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championship in Langley, BC, Canada in September. Ten European national teams will match in Radotín, together with team Hong Kong and Canada U20. Home LCC Wolves will play against Canadians too on Saturday April 20 from 4 p.m. The programme is being finalized now and the final version will be published here soon.
