Jamie Plunkett continues with AM group inroduction. This time he is certainly not an independent analyst, but lets see.
Group F of the Aleš Hřebeský Memorial has an international flavour to it as two of the teams are from overseas and the 3rd is made up of players from various countries. The Boston Megamen, Nova Scotia Privateers and Team Eurolax will battle it out to try and claim supremacy in this tough group.
The Boston Megamen will make their 10th appearance and where they’ve won three titles to go along with two 2nd place finishes. For a team that hasn’t won since 2012 they’ll be looking on their core players to take them to the “promised land” again. The Megamen will be looking for Jamie Plunkett to anchor the defence and for PJ Martin to finally unlock his goal scoring potential. If they can quickly gel on offence look for the Megamen to make a deep run in the tournament. A tough 2nd game against the Privateers will be the decider of who takes top spot in this group. 2014 Result: 4th.
Nova Scotia Privateers will be trying to replicate their 3rd place finish back in 2013. They took a slight dip in performance in 2014 but will still be a very talented team who are used to playing with each other. This year they will have Chet Koneczny who played 4 years in the NLL, lastly with the Colorado Mammoth. Czech lacrosse fans will remember him from 2011 when he suited up for the national team at the Indoor World’s in Prague. They also feature a strong core of Senior players from Nova Scotia and will be counting on their goalie to backstop them to first place in the group. 2014 Result: 9th.
Team Eurolax head into their 3rd tournament looking to build on the 2 last places finishes. This squad is made up of players from 6 countries and will look to find team chemistry quickly. Made up of players from Lille, France they are led by François Labbé who hopes to guide his team to a better record. They will be in tough in this group but hopefully with the addition of Ingmar Klienbannink and Martin Panzner they can surprise a few teams. 2014 Result: 20th.
