Pioneers pocházejí z kanadského Vancouveru a okolí označovaného také jako Lower Mainland. Většina hráčů hraje ligu za Ladner Pioneers, hrají soutěž pořádanou West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association (WCSLA). Pioneers patří k nejúspěšnějším kanadským týmům ve své kategorii. Šetkrát vyhráli mistrovství WCSLA: v letech 1990, 1991, 1997, 1998, 2004 a 2007. V letech 1998 a 2004 získali President Cup, pohár pro mistra Kanady Senior B. Od té doby se v této soutěži žádný tým ze západní Kanady neprosadil. S touto vizitkou přijíždějí na Memoriál Aleše Hřebeského potřetí a chtějí vylepšit své páté místo ze svých předchozích účastí. Po svém návratu pak budou pokračovat v rozehrané sezóně WCSLA.

The Pioneers hail from the Greater Vancouver Area in British Columbia, also known as the Lower Mainland. During league play, most players play for the Ladner Pioneers of the West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association (WCSLA). The Pioneers are one of the most successful senior lacrosse teams in Canada. The Pioneers have won six WCSLA Championships; 1990, 1991, 1997, 1998, 2004, and 2007. In 1998 and 2004, the Pioneers won the Presidents Cup, the Canadian National Sr. B Championship, the last Western Canadian to have won the Cup. This will be the Pioneers third consecutive Aleš Hřebeský Memorial and they will be looking to improve on their 5th place finish in 2013 and 2014. They are the first team from Western Canada attending the tournament. After the completion of the tournament the Pioneers will travel back to Canada to compete in WCSLA regular season action.
